Today is a great day!

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Tushar joined CueBlocks as a web analyst and became a vital part of the team of heady Internet Marketers at CueBlocks!

However, time had to play its part and Tushar had to move on but not without sharing his CueBlocks’ experience.

Here it goes:

Today is great day. I got up a little late in the morning, but it’s okay because I have up-till 10 to make it office. I’ve been looking forward to it, since I slept while reading last night. I’ve been looking forward to reaching office while people are still coming in, so that I can also participate in the morning chatter than goes around, when everybody’s sharing updates and saying their greetings, not because they have to, but because they want to.

I’m looking forward to it, because where I work, I am encouraged to do what I love to do, and share space with a set of people, who are not only creative, intelligent, good natured (although these are important things), but more importantly they are grounded, value-driven and a hell of a lot of fun to be with.

I want to reach office as soon as possible, have my set of meetings, answer my emails, do some serious data analysis (happens to be one of my interests), and then enjoy some lunch, before I get into the a very serious battle of FIFA 2012 on the Xbox.

I’m looking forward to that time after lunch, when I come back from the entertainment area and start the second half of the day.

And as I get up, I play this song on my phone which was playing last evening in the office. I look forward to that time the most. It’s when the day is almost over; people are wrapping up their work and enjoying some light music.

I am also looking forward to have some great conversations over the loads caffeine that I consume. Just yesterday, I enjoyed a conversation about people and what motivates them with a dear friend.

And finally I’m looking forward to it, because it’s going to be different than yesterday. It will perhaps be more challenging with the new projects that have come in and most fun part will be to figure a way around them with the help of my creative and committed teammates.

Yep. I simply cannot wait. I jump from the bed and start getting ready.

Every working day of the last few months, I have gotten up in the morning and felt like that.

And as a consequence, I now share genuine personal and professional relationships with many in the office, I’ve grown and learnt beyond anything I had ever imagined and I am as proud as one can be, of being a CueBie.

That, is my story. What’s yours?

CueBlocks.com is Now 6 Years Old!

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

CueBlocks.com completed 6 years on July 12th 2011 and what a ride it has been! From stumbling through time to walking the length, running the course and now gearing up for a full throttle, CueBlocks has experienced all the insanity that a growing business can and should. So that the time to come will bear witness that we’re doing things better, with more passion and are ever-more ready for adventure both on and off the digital marketing field. All this and much more with our lucky mascots – Chatur and Carlos :)

Benchmarks can be quite stagnating so when CueBlocks.com reached the 5th year one, it was time to take things to the next level. We had to make the sixth year more exciting and awesome enough to carry forward the spirit on to the seventh as well. So let’s see what the sixth year was about and was it promising of a brighter future?

Bigger & Better Office
– While CueBlocks.com warmed up its position on the web, its space expanded in real time too. We occupied the floor below and transformed it into a new extension of the CueBlocks office. It now houses our much loved entertainment area with a pool table, table tennis table, PS3 & Wii and other great stuff! Oh and the web development division is also on the same floor. :)

Certifications
– CueBlocks, already a Google Adwords Certified company, recently became a very proud Magento Professional Partner and a Microsoft adExcellence company. Woohoo!

Goals – We made our foothold stronger as an eCommerce Design, Build and Marketing agency. CueBlocks is thrilled to offer tried, tested and trusted services in eCommerce and mobile commerce development & marketing. We ensure that any store (as long as it’s online), big, small, medium or multi-channel will create enough buzz on the web with us.

Being Fun & Fantastic – Hell yeah! This is something, that no matter how many years go by, will always remain a core value at CueBlocks. Whatever we undertook in the year gone by and will undertake in the years to come, will not be without our stamp of making it totally fun and fantastic!

So here’s to another stepping stone and another year of striving for excellence!

Great job Cuebies (current and alumni)! Congratulations and cheers for the exciting times ahead. :)

And now if we could only decide on where to party!

CueBlocks Family’s Newest Members: The Beagle Brothers :)

Carlos & Chatur - Peace after the Frenzy

Carlos & Chatur - Peace after the Frenzy

No, they’re not a bunch of pop musicians or a band of karaoke singers but furry, fuzzy, cute beagle puppies! Coming from the same litter, both Chatur and Carlos have made their way into our hearts and office recently and are making everyone fall in love with them. And what’s interesting is that their mother is named Poison (for a reason ) and we hope that this time around the children don’t take after their mother. So far so cute!

From running after them and saving the server wires from being eaten away, the cubies are doing all in their power to make them feel and behave like at home instead of them making the office their playground. But you can only do so much when the ‘idiomatic’ puppy face is multiplied two times and accompanied by an overload of tumbling acts and puppy tricks.

Ready to meet them? Here’s a trivia that will come in handy on the day of encounter.

Chatur - The Cute & the Restless

Chatur - The Cute & the Restless

Chatur – is two months old and loves to play
Likes – Mud, toys, biting on things, creating chaos and playing with his brother too

Dislikes – Interruptions during play-time, being confined to a room or someone’s lap
Eats – Mud (as implied in ‘Likes’), and dog food

Carlos – is also two months old and takes the Latino name way too seriously for his image and so is quieter than his brother
Likes – Mud too (common ground between the two or may be genes), only likes to play with his brother. Follows when you don’t pay attention.
Dislikes – His brother hogging the limelight and his bullying but he is usually fine with most other things.

Carlos - The Quiter One

Carlos - The Quieter One Contemplates

Eats – Mud (check ‘Likes’ again) and co-incidentally dog food again! :D

But these traits will change and interchange just as we do their identities sometimes.

And of course they don’t bite, because they don’t have teeth as of now but we’ll make sure that it does not happen even when they do have teeth, only for the inner tribe for the rest we’ll see!

While we enjoy the ‘Doggy-see-Doogy-do’ you keep tuning in for more updates on the woofy moments at CueBlocks!

We are hiring at CueBlocks!

CueBlocks’ Brawny Stint at Rishikesh

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

When punching keyboards day in and out takes a toll on creative mojo and sitting for long hours with hunched backs droops more than shoulders; it’s time to listen to the sweetness of words like ‘breathers’, ‘relaxing’ and ‘unwinding’. And that’s what we did – picked up our bags and trotted to where water, sun and sand are not as we know them.

CueBlocks took the time off and went on one high-octane Rafting trip that’s not going to get out of minds for a long time! The place was Rishikesh, Uttarakhand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rishikesh), the city of temples and the Ganga. Our objective – pure fun and living off adrenalin for two days!

On Familiar Waters

On Familiar Waters

We arrived at Rishikesh on Saturday morning driving all Friday night. Our adventure schedule included 29 Km of Rafting, Rappelling and Rock climbing. There was also a surprise deal which literally meant taking the step off the edge – Cliff Jumping. The stage was already set and what was needed were strong players. We had already warded off the exhaustion from the previous night and were full on in for the adventure.

Rafting was first on the list and we took about 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the terrain which was not without some mean deals called ‘Rapids’ the meaning of which is better experienced than explained. Rapids are waves in the river that show no mercy and mock the attempts of poor mortals crunched together on a deflatable raft. :) They are classified into different grades based on their insanity and power. The Rapids that we met were grade 3 (the highest is 5). Which is something for the rookies!

After going through so many rapids, the still water was just a breeze! But what really jolted the heart was Cliff Jumping. Some of us tried it and enjoyed the free fall of our lives into the water from 10 feet above! In one word – insane! We reached back at the camp, hungry, drop dead tired but content with the display of courage and comedy.

Lost in Anticipation :)

Lost in Anticipation :)

Later when food found way to our stomachs we tried our hands at Volley Ball and played till the last ounce of energy was sapped out. The games started as friendly and fun but soon the competition was on and trash talk filled in where the skill lacked. In the volley of mocking exchanges, spikes and slams emerged as winners and the players soon retired to their dwellings to ward off some tiredness before the bon-fire at night.

The super-active day ended on quite a contrary but inevitable note with dinner around the simmering fire, as life experiences were shared and jokes splattered about. The riverside, the reach-and-touch silver stars and the company of friends was all too perfect but was cut down by weariness of the day.

The next day we had rappelling and rock climbing. It wasn’t much of an ordeal but had its own fun and fancy.  And soon after the breakfast, the Volley ball was again seen picked and pounded across the net, while the sweet chin music played in the background.

What followed was some more splashing about in the water, packing and gearing up for the journey back home. The trip was coming to end but something else was brimming – a stock of great stories to share and enjoy plus a lifetime of experience to cherish. Not to forget the pain and bruises to mark our adventure.

P.S – Our photographers have done a brilliant job in capturing our stay at Rishikesh. The shots will help a lot where words have failed

P.P.S – The people who lost their way while coming back were privileged to some extra-adventure. Not sure, if they’d be up to sharing it. But they did mention ‘getting lost is not a waste of time’  :)

eCommerce Development and Marketing Firm – CueBlocks, develops Zoom function Magento Extension

Monday, January 17th, 2011

January 13th 2011

eCommerce development and eCommerce marketing agency, CueBlocks Technologies (http://www.CueBlocks.com/) has recently launched a Product Zoom extension for Magento. The Zoom extension is available for free and can be viewed at: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/CueBlocks.com/extension/5367/cueblocks_zoom. The Product Zoom extension is compatible with Magento versions 1.3, 1.4, 1.4.1.1 and 1.4.2.

CueBlocks is a Magento Solution partner company and focuses on providing eCommerce development solutions based on Magento platform. Magento is a feature-rich, professional open-source eCommerce solution offering merchants complete flexibility and control over the look, content, and functionality of their online store.

Magento extensions developed by CueBlocks are available at: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/developer/CueBlocks.com

Throwing more light on the Product Zoom extension, Avneet Sethi, President Products & Services, CueBlocks, informed, “Magento’s default zoom function opens the larger image in a new window. With CueBlocks’ Zoom extension, a viewer can magnify a specific part of the image by simply doing a mouse over and without having to open the image in a new window. The zoomed area is displayed on the same page. Another feature of this extension is that the images under “more views” are also loaded within the main image window instead of a new window. The extension is free to use. This is just one of the small contributions we’ve made towards the Magento community.”.

CueBlocks, a Google Adwords Qualified digital marketing agency, has been helping international clients from US, UK and Ireland develop advanced eCommerce stores that sell effectively.

Speaking about the extension, Pancham Prashar, President Sales & Marketing at CueBlocks said, “Product viewing is of extreme importance for any eCommerce store and has a direct impact on the user’s buying experience on the online store. With the Product Zoom extension installed on your Magento store, you can change how the world views your products and eventually your online store.”

Pancham further added, “Magento is one of the fastest growing eCommerce platforms in the world today and we at CueBlocks have a strong understanding and experience of making it work for any business that wants to debut online or convert from existing eCommerce platform to Magento.”

CueBlocks’ Zoom Magento extension is available for free installation, details of which can be viewed at: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/CueBlocks.com/extension/5367/cueblocks_zoom
